How long have you worked for Times-Union Media?

December 15, 2017 makes five years!

Why did you choose Times-Union Media?

I was excited to join a legacy company with strong name recognition in the market and also a team that was supplying clients with state of the art solutions to their advertising and marketing challenges.

What drew you to the digital marketing industry?

I always laugh and say “teaching an old dog new tricks”, but after 30 years working as a radio marketing consultant here in Jacksonville, digital solutions made so much sense to me. It was the proverbial light bulb going off. It is truly consultative. The ability to have more in-depth conversations with my clients, their online presence or lack thereof, their companies’ online strength and being able to see the results of how their marketing dollars were invested is actually really cool to me. We have so many affordable and creative ways to help clients navigate the sometimes daunting and confusing digital landscape. I get excited to creatively talk about custom solutions.

How are you set up for success at Times-Union Media?

I look at every day as a new adventure. I think I work hard to touch each of my clients on a regular basis, listen and offer creative ideas. I also have several different people on different teams here at Times-Union Media that are way smarter than me. I am so grateful for each one of them.

What is your favorite social media platform, and why?

My favorite social media platform is still Facebook. Demographically for businesses, it is so important to give a customer the ability to schedule an appointment right from Facebook. Personally, I communicate a lot via Facebook. It is an easy platform to navigate and interact with friends and businesses.

What do you enjoy most about working at Times-Union Media?

The people who are here are all striving for the same thing — excellence. I enjoy getting to know people in other parts of the building, including the extraordinary and award-winning writers, editors and graphic designers. I am in awe of the talent that Times-Union Media has amassed in one place. Also, when you tell people where you work, they know and respect the name.

What is one fun fact most people don’t know about you?

I was the first female sportscaster both on radio and television at the University of Florida, and also here in Jacksonville.

What is your favorite inspirational quote or motto?

“The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you choose, what you think and what you do is who you become.” Heraclitus
