How long have you worked for Times-Union Media?

I started in September 2016 so it’s been about a year and half…time flies!

Why did you choose Times-Union Media?

I have a degree in Media/Communications from Florida State University and all of my internships had been in digital marketing/IT so naturally I was drawn to this industry. I had met one of the real estate reps, Catherine Lee, when I was applying for jobs and was so impressed with her passion for the TU. I knew I wanted to be a part of it all.

What drew you to the digital marketing industry?

As a kid, I was fascinated with the latest technology and telecommunications. I also grew up in a very tech-savvy/media-oriented family – my Aunt and brother are successful software engineers, my grandparents owned and operated two successful radio stations in North Florida, and my parents had very successful careers in sales/media/executive management. As a matter of fact, my mother was an advertising rep for radio, TV and Cable Television in California and NYC, eventually running an entire cable operation. I wanted a career that would offer an opportunity for growth and to utilize my family as valuable mentors. It’s in my blood!

How are you set up for success at Times-Union Media?

My ability to have an open mind, positive attitude and a solid work ethic has given me the chance to grow into a successful advertising consultant and see my true potential in this field. I love meeting new people, learning about new businesses and listening to my client’s needs. Whether it’s big or small, I truly feel that I’m actually making a difference at Times Union.

What is your favorite social media platform, and why?

Facebook and Instagram are great tools not only for staying connected with friends and family, but also for businesses to interact with their current customers, as well as reach new markets.

On a personal note, Snapchat, 100%! I love being able to act goofy with my friends and stay up-to-date with their lives. I also like being keeping up with current events and pop culture with their “Discover” feature.

What do you enjoy most about working at Times-Union Media?

The fast paced work environment and the amazing team! I am so blessed to be a part of the TU family; everyone pushes you to be the best you can be and cheers you up when you’re having a rough day. We truly are a supportive TEAM, which is rare in many sales environments.

What is one fun fact most people don’t know about you?

I’ve lived all over the country – I was born in Southern California, moved to Connecticut for elementary school, and visited my dad in NYC, then moved to Boca Raton for middle school/ high school, and finally to South Ponte Vedra Beach once I started college at Florida State. I also studied one semester abroad in Spain and have been to France and Ireland! I am so thankful that I’ve been able to travel all over the world.

What is your favorite inspirational quote or motto?

“Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans. ”
– John Lennon
